Auburn Speaks: On Food Systems traces Auburn University’s exceptional food-related research across a spectrum of disciplines–engineering, economics, marketing, horticulture, poultry science, veterinary medicine, fisheries, among many others. Dr. Patricia Curtis, guest editor and director of the Auburn University Food Systems Institute, has asked expert researchers to relate their work in such areas as nutrition, safety, and access.
Features will include articles on food processing; packaging; yield; delivery; economics; and the sustainability and growth of poultry, beef, seafood, and food crops in Alabama and beyond.
In fact, from developing sustainable fish culture throughout the world to growing specialty market oysters on the southern Gulf Coast, to analysis of food-related catastrophes in Africa, Auburn research is both geographically and topically diverse. Its findings inform industry, policy, and practice.
